Bukola Idowu is the founding executive director of the Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI), www.kimpact.org.ng . He possesses a wealth of experience in public policy and development, with a strong background in democratic development, policy advocacy, community organising, gender equity, electoral justice, electoral violence mitigation, and youth development. He is currently in charge of overseeing and improving the activities and strategic plan of KDI. With his skilled leadership and exceptional management abilities, Bukola successfully transformed KDI into one of the leading youth-led non-profit organisations in Nigeria in less than a decade. His unwavering commitment to democratic causes has played a pivotal role in fostering a functional democracy in Nigeria. Bukola has successfully led strategic advocacy in Nigeria, resulting in notable advancements in youth development and electoral reforms. One noteworthy achievement was the successful passage of a youth development bill into law in Osun State. He also plays a crucial role in promoting voter education and raising awareness to strengthen electoral democracy in Nigeria. This is achieved through the implementation of various projects, which have had a significant impact on electoral reforms and have been utilised to engage election stakeholders in Nigeria.Bukola is an alumnus of the Generation Democracy programme offered by the International Republic Institute (IRI). Bukola is a senior member of the Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (IPDM). Additionally, he is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Economists (ACE). He is studying for a master’s degree in Electoral Policy and Administration at Scuola Superiore, Sant'Anna, Italy.
