Ever since I was young I have loved nothing more than trying to understand the world around me. Whether it's looking for little creatures in the woods, learning how to be my own IT support, or folding a super-complex origami model, I am most at my element when putting my brain to work. To this day, I am excited to conduct independent study on topics from historical fashion to teen internet culture. Exploring all that the world has to offer is the bread and butter of my life.I am often asked what my "Media and Screen Studies" major means. To me, learning about media theory is learning about the gears which allow our society to function. In the present day, we are living in a more heavily mediated era than ever before--which makes understanding media a crucial skill. My primary focus is the relationship between people and technology and how that relationship shapes our way of life.My greatest strength is, without a doubt, my adaptability. When presented with a new conundrum, I am quick and enthusiastic to figure out a creative solution. I am an out-of-the-box thinker who tries to approach problems from unconventional perspectives.
