About Peter Bull

Peter is Managing Director of Horizon Aerospace, in independent provider of aviation Expert Witness, Expert Advisor, Mediation and Consulting services. He has more than 40 years of industry experience having held senior positions in aircraft maintenance, engineering, airworthiness, leasing, risk and asset management, loss adjusting and management consulting. He spent 5 years on both the UK Limited and Group Boards of PE backed Airclaims, a global market leader in aviation claims, risk and asset management, ranked in the top 50 fastest growing business in the UK leading up to a successful exit to PE backed McLarens in 2011. He was an Advisory Board Member with Milestone, the largest helicopter lessor in the world, prior to its acquisition by GE in 2014 for $1.78 billion. He also sat on the Advisory Board of AirVault, a US, SaaS, aircraft records management business which was also later acquired by GE. Peter was recently an Executive Director on the board of both the engine leasing company and Topco, of a joint venture between Rolls Royce and a Swiss investment bank. Peter is an experienced aviation expert witness and expert advisor, having been instructed in numerous high profile disputes from the London High Court and International Arbitration to the Hague. Peter has completed the Cardiff University / Bond Solon Expert Witness Program and has been an CEDR accredited mediator since 2011.He has an MBA, sponsored by British Airways, plus a second Masters in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University. His thesis, which analysed the impact of variables negotiated in an aircraft operating lease, over the full term of the agreement, won the prize for Best Thesis 2006. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, a Fellow of the Expert Witness Institute, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Chartered Manager. He is also an Incorporated Engineer and a current UK, Civil Aviation Authority, multi-licenced (Categories B1 and C on both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft) and multi-type rated, aircraft engineer . Peter has considerable international exposure conducting business in more than 50 different countries, including a total of 4 years based in Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Brunei.
