Geologist with a keen interest in Sedimentology (specializing in carbonate sedimentology, Quaternary geology and geomorphology) and GIS, combining academic and environmental industry experience.My strong interest in geoscience is rooted in its diversity and interdisciplinary nature that allow constant learning and the variety of aspects combining fieldwork, lab work, data analysis and reporting.My active involvement in academic research has focused on Lower and Upper Cretaceous hydrocarbon reservoirs in the North Sea. The scope of these studies have been integrated stratigraphy, diagenesis, microtexture analysis and mobility (physical behaviour) of the pelagic and hemi-pelagic carbonates. The successful research has manifested itself in several publications with another few in prep. Among other, I have acquired competencies working with SEM (BSE, SE, element analysis EDX), image analysis, laser diffraction granulometry, XRF, stable O and C isotopes, laboratory flumes.Furthermore, work as a GIS Analyst has provided me with experience in acquiring geospatial data using UAS (fixed-winged drones), georeferenced imagery processing using photogrammetry software (Pix4D) to generate DSM (Digital Surface Model) and DTM (Digital Terrain Model), and GIS application for further interpretation, mapping, digitisation, volume calculations etc. using geospatial data. There is just something that really draws me to visualisation and analysis of geospatial data. And drones are fun, no explanation necessary.My earlier work experience is 3 years as geological technician and 1 year as a geologist working mainly with mapping and exploration of sand/gravel quarries in glacial sediments. Who knew that hanging out in coastal sand and gravel bars, kame terraces and eskers among other would be so much fun? This experience helped me to develop skills in the field work (soil sampling with auger, soft sediment sampling with peat corer, drilling), outcrop and core description, ArcGIS and quarry exploration licensing.
