At the Sanger Institute, I am responsible for managing the deliverables of the Technician Commitment, building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.My role involves coordinating and providing support for the Technician Commitments dedicated working groups to ensure the emergence of ideas and that work is carried.

My recent project is a Malarial drug screen based on overexpression of genes that are directly or indirectly related to drug resistance. The number of effective drugs on different stages of Malaria is very limited and validation of current and potential drugs is a limiting factor. I studied the role of DJ-1 protein in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s Disease and worked onfinding genes for hereditary forms of Frontotemporal dementia and Parkinsonism linked to chromosome 17 (FTDP-17) and Frontotemporal Lobar degeneration with Ubiquitin positive inclusions (FTLD-U). During this period, I also generated a large lymphoblast tissue sample.
