This project investigates the use of actuator materials in heat engines and moisture engines. Materials that contract on exposure to heat and / or moisture will be developed and characterised in terms of their actuation performance. Reciprocating engine designs will be investigated and designed to operate by repeatedly cycling a band or fibre through hot/wet and cold/dry zones. The engine design will be matched to the material capabilities for optimal performance.

• Produced drawings of a high quality, in a timely manner utilising AutoCAD 2D, SolidWorks, Inventor, Trutops and OMAX.• Programmed jobs for the Trumph 1030 Laser and for the OMAX 80106 Water jet.• Prepared workshop drawings to be interpreted by manufacturing and installation staff.• Performed modelling and design consultations in conjunction with the Project Managers, Fabrication, and Installation staff.• Amended and improved workshop drawings where needed.• Developed lean drawing practices to be able to produce workshop drawings as efficiently as possible.• Utilised quoting system to quote Profile Cutting and Fabrication jobs, used the software Quote Builder to finalise quotations that were sent to clients.• Customer liaison when needed to clear any confusions and continue efficient workflow.• Maintained high quality of products and services at all times, developed experience in all tasks and continuously improved work practices.• Provided feedback to Management to enable continued development of products and service.• Completed all required paperwork accurately and within specified time frames.
