I went on to lead pediatric service line development for BJC Healthcare. As president and CEO of Phoenix Children’s Hospital, I spearheaded development and construction of the first comprehensive, freestanding health care campus in Arizona dedicated to pediatrics.I'm the author of the book "The Healing Art of Communication," creator of CAREmunication®, a comprehensive training and professional development program designed to help health care providers improve communication, and a frequent speaker on communication, leadership and strategy. I serve on the Boards of Directors of Southeast Health, an integrated system serving patients in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois, and Friends of Confluence Academy, a charter school in St. Louis. I've also served on the Board of Directors of the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development of the American Hospital Association.Specialties: Strategy development and implementation; leadership communication; physician communication; patient experience assessment and enhancement; branding strategy and management; employee engagement; Board and executive retreat facilitation.
