The hydraulic pump aids in raising and lowering the yoke.3. The gearbox unit has a close resemblance to the one utilized in vehicle transmission. Furthermore, the clutch system is also attached to the gearbox. 4. The Drill head. It houses the two hydraulic cylinders that enables the quil and the yoke work in unison when advancing a borehole or pulling out. The diamond rotary drill rig is utilized with a duplex piston mud pump. I've also worked with a mid size rotary top drive rig utilizing down the hole hammer. This type of drill rig utilizes a compressor which blows compressed air that inturn enables the downhole hamer hit the formation with repeated blows. In addition is easly portable. At the time the rig was used to drill 45 holes 3 meters deep to install copper earth rods. I've handled geotech projects and water drilling in the Coastal region of Kenya as a roustabout.
