Outreach Coordinator/Veterans Claim Examiner
CurrentPerforms duties at the direction of Department leadership, to steward a highly engaged work force, advancing advocacy efforts and outreach with Federal, state and local stakeholders. Coordinate planning and execution for appropriate outreach events for the Agency. Serve as primary POC for Agency outreach activities statewide. Conduct informational presentations on behalf of the organization. Coordinates activities/visits with elected and appointed officials. Collects data and monitor trends that will enhance the delivery of the agencies advocacy programs. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Works closely with FDVA Field Service Supervisors to ensure effective outreach program. Serves as liaison between FDVA and State College System. Ensures local FDVA offices have sufficient promotional items for outreach events. Works with County Property Appraisers and FDVA staff statewide to ensure necessary training and delivery of Combat Related Tax discount determinations. Develops and maintains effective relationships with all VHA Outreach Specialists/Public Affairs Officer’s/VHA/VBA Directors at all VA statewide locations. Compile, develop and maintain data, collect, and analyze data to enhance the Agency’s outreach activities. Develop and maintain contact data to enhance outreach activities.To advocate with a high degree of purpose and passion for Florida veterans while linking them to superior veteran claims examiner services of veterans benefits and support. Process high quality claims and/or associated actions while successfully producing a fair share of total claims utilizing a high degree of technical expertise in laws, regulations and policies regarding veteran benefits at federal, state, and local level.
