Co-led an MBI opportunity in the food and recycling sector, with the aim of increasing shareholder value through operational improvements, restructuring ad driving growth.• Identified target (c£55m t/o), successfully negotiated price, obtained exclusivity, appointed PwC as advisors and produced a detailed financial and operational model and a 60 page business plan• Performed commercial and operational due diligence • Pitched project to a number of PE Houses and Banks to back the transaction

Interim role reporting to the Divisional Director, to manage a number of major projects in the integration of the Veolia and Cleanaway businesses whilst continuing to manage the Divisional Finance function of Cleanaway.• Led a cross functional team in establishing and implementing an internalisation programme involving significant systems and administrative change, improving self performance of subcontracted services by over 40%, generating an annualised profit of over £2m• Managed and implemented a disposal internalisation programme internalising from 3rd parties 65,000 tonnes per annum in the first year, generating an annual profit improvement to the business of £400k• Analysed business cost profiles to identify disposal cost savings of £850k per annum by leveraging purchasing power across the 2 businesses

Interim role reporting to the Divisional Director, to develop and implement a streamlined system of financial control for the Division, whilst ensuring the accuracy and timely production of management and corporate financial information.• Centralised the financial and management accounting functions of the division from 4 regional offices, saving 6 heads and improving the accuracy and transparency by developing new processes• Identified, reconciled and released excess financial reserves exceeding £1m

Reporting to the Divisional Director, to develop, evaluate and implement profit improvement projects.• Established a national subcontract function, re-deploying 12 staff, and saving annualised costs of over £550k, whilst creating greater transparency of management information. At the same time, up-skilling and re-training the staff, leading to improved retention and morale• Developed a strategy to manage and optimise Cleanaway’s relationship with Waste Brokers, resulting in an improvement in profitability of £500k, doubling % returns• Implemented a method of charging supplementary charges to customers, generating additional revenue and profit of £1.5m per annum
