Burt-Ujin currently serves as a program manager for East Asia and the Pacific at the International Republican Institute (IRI), a non-partisan, non-profit, international democracy-development organization. She manages portfolios of democracy development programs that promote information transparency, provide parliamentary development assistance, strengthen accountable governance, build capacity of civil society, media and political parties, support citizen participation in decision making, and amplify marginalized voices. Before transitioning to the HQ, she had held varying roles since first joining IRI's field office in Mongolia in 2014 and her diverse portfolio projects had cumulatively reached millions of people.Prior to joining IRI, Burt-Ujin worked on a government-funded open-source research program at Georgetown University in Washington for five years as a media research analyst, monitoring and analyzing biological, social and political instability events for emerging threats around the world. In addition to her research and assistance works, she has public relations, accounting and business development experience.Passionate about education and empowerment, Burt-Ujin is an active volunteer. She serves as the director of international development at Empact Network, a Mongolia-based NGO of women dedicated to professional and personal development. She co-translated a career development book, successfully making it into a bestseller among Mongolian readers. She also serves on the Mongolia board of AFS Intercultural Programs, an international, voluntary organization for intercultural learning.Burt-Ujin speaks Mongolian, English and Russian. She earned a master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications at Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration at University of Northern Virginia. She regularly completes certificate courses as part of her continued professional development.
