With over 18 years of relevant experience in leadership and management in the fields of customs, trade law, international negotiations, addressing cross border barriers, regulation on foreign investment and intellectual property rights. Passionate about trade integration initiatives between countries, as driven by the desire to raise the living standards of ordinary citizens across nations. I have experience and expertise in customs and trade facilitation coupled with, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. I have undertaken various assignments and successfully delivered results including reforms to the Customs law of the East African Community, integrated customs systems of the EAC Partner States, a common customs training curriculum, onboarding activities leading to the admission of the Republic of South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo into the East African Community, and implementation of strategies to coordinate the Customs Administrations of the EAC Partner States.
