Building the next generation of sustainable and high-quality fresh food supply systems is at the heart of Califrais’ innovation. We believe that improving the resilience of complex and dynamic systems starts with creating technological tools that enable us to simultaneously capture clean data, and to act on it. Invoking high-dimensional learning algorithms in combination with an adequate modeling of large-scale fresh produce flows will dramatically reinvent how global food supply chains can be optimized.I’m the founder & CEO of Califrais, the startup which revolutionizes the fresh food supply chain with AI and eco-friendly mind. Within our research lab LOPF - Large-scale Optimization of Product Flows - we are building new generation of machine learning algorithms to reinvent perishable inventory management, dynamic pricing, or churn modeling in our business segment. See simonbussy.com for details.

Founder & CeoRungismarket.Com Jan 2022 - PresentRungismarket.com is the new marketplace of Rungis, the biggest fresh produce market in the world. We provide an innovative one-stop shop delivery service in France, and soon in Europe. Our technology allows for unrivaled flexibility in service, with competitive prices thanks to optimized costs and an outstanding reliability in supplies thanks to controlled flows. -
Founder & CeoCalifrais Sep 2014 - PresentChevilly-Larue, Île-De-France, Fr@Califrais we are re-inventing the fresh food supply chain with AI. Supply chain and Food are two industries with a high impact on the environment and they are still particularly underdeveloped when it comes to AI and data science tools. We designed new tools for multi-site optimization of stock management, price optimization, market volatility, and much more. -

Postdoctoral ResearcherCentre De Recherche Des Cordeliers Nov 2018 - Dec 2019Paris, Île-De-France, FrWe introduced a prognostic method called lights to deal with the problem of joint modeling of longitudinal data and censored durations in a high-dimensional context. The technology is developped in the Califrais' Lab. -
Research ProjectCmap Ecole Polytechnique Apr 2015 - Aug 2015FrUsing a high-dimensional case study on a sickle-cell disease cohort with heterogeneous longitudinal data, the goal of the project was to compare existing machine learning methods in terms of risk prediction and feature selection. -
Research Project On Multi-Armed BanditÉcole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay Nov 2014 - Jan 2015Gif-Sur-Yvette, Île-De-France, FrIn the context of a movie recommendation system, one can imagine that instead of recommending just one movie to a user, we recommend a bunch of movies, and qualify our recommendation as good if the user clicks on one of the films. This situation can be modeled by a multi-armed bandit models in which at each round, a certain number of arms are drawn simultaneously. This problem is a particular case of what is sometimes called in the literature a combinatorial bandit problem. The goal of this project was to understand this recent set up and then to adapt the classical stochastic MAB algorithms (UCB and Thompson Sampling) to this context. -
Research ProjectDreem Oct 2014 - Jan 2015Paris, Île-De-France, FrThe project is proposed by the startup Dreem. The data consists of epochs of 3 seconds of EEG signal and the goal is to detect slow oscillations to enable the start-up product to help the user switching stages of sleep by stimulating the appearance of slow oscillation. -
