Hello, I'm Buthaina Alabrash, and I'm excited to share how my journey as a Computer Science scholar has shown me the incredible impact technology can have in creating positive change.Education: My pursuit of knowledge led me to the American University of Beirut (AUB), where I've been immersed in the world of Computer Science, complemented by a minor in Arabic.Experience: -As a Python Developer at AUB's Computer Science Department, I trained a model using Convolutional Neural Networks to classify food as healthy or unhealthy. This experience underscored the impact of technology on health and well-being.-In collaboration with NASA, I contributed as a Java Developer to the Simulation Exploration Experience 2021 Smackdown. By creating a space suit simulation using the Unity environment, I became a part of the Florida Space Institute repository on GitHub—a testament to the potential of technology in space exploration.-My passion for technology extends beyond development. As a Trainee and Python Developer at Zaka Academe, I gained insights into key concepts in Machine Learning, AI, and Data Science, culminating in the creation of an AI Language detection model.-In my role as a Team Leader at the Humanitarian Engineering Initiative at AUB, I led a team in prototyping a sustainable solution to address refugee students' dropouts—a testament to the transformative potential of technology in education.Community Engagement: My commitment to community service is interwoven with technology. I organized and implemented a training program for women in Tech-Fields in Lebanese secondary public schools, as part of a USAID project.Awards and Recognition: My journey has been marked by recognition, including being on the Dean's Honor List and receiving awards such as the Mary Jones Memorial Award for outstanding commitment to community service.Skills and Beyond: My skills encompass a range of programming languages, technical proficiencies, and soft skills. I possess fluency in Arabic and English, and proficiency in Python, Java, and more. Beyond my technical abilities, I embrace leadership, communication, and public speaking.Conclusion: My narrative is a testament to the potential of technology when combined with education, empowerment, and community engagement.
