Bureau ChiefSeptember, 1996 - June 2009 Hired and trained more than a dozen reporters, developing them into award-winning journalists (two recognized by the New Jersey Press Association as the best young reporters in the state).Organized and moderated regular reader focus groups with Cape May County readers.Co-wrote 2004 series examining seasonal economy. Submitted for Pulitzer by my editors, the series won state news and business honors in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.Wrote series of articles examining prosecutor’s ruling that Pennsylvania woman’s death was an accident. Stories sparked public criticism of authorities handling of the case and led to it being reopened.Reported on unsolved death in shore community that raised questions about official investigation.
