I grew up in Tanzania, Kenya, Hampshire and Oxford. I have over 20 years experience of graphic design and art direction, both in-house and freelance, for a variety of clients including Oxford University Press, Heinemann, Macmillan and Friends of the Earth. I've worked on a range of materials from corporate identity and campaign mailings to children's picture books, text books and novels - designing and managing projects from concept to print.I travelled to Africa and the Caribbean while working for Heinemann International, working with local publishers and illustrators. I photographed projects and people for Oxfam in Northern Kenya, and was involved in visual aids training workshops with Healthimages in Uganda, Malawi and Thailand.I've taught design and drawing at various levels, and I sell my work locally and online.I have also turned my hobby into a business - designing and making simple sustainable jewellery - using sea glass and stones, tumbled smooth by the sea and gathered at low tide along the Suffolk coast where I live - I combine these with stirling silver or gold. I sell through shops, galleries, fairs and online.I have divided my time between freelance graphic design and art direction, occasional drawing workshops and creating drawings and jewellery to sell. Over the years this has allowed me the flexibility to be around for my two children. Here is a link to my online shop -
