Founder And President
CurrentIn 2010, PACT began its journey as a voice for companion animals in need of rescue and fostering. Run by a dedicated volunteer staff and distinguished board of directors, PACT is committed to educating, assisting, and engaging the public, shelters and rescue organization for the well-being of both companion animals and their owners. Before forming PACT, Buzz noticed that more and more people in the armed services were forced to surrender their pets to a shelter when they went on deployment. These brave men and women were risking their lives to fight for our country, and yet were forced to leave their best friends and sometimes only family in the lobby of an animal shelter, full of sadness, worry, and remorse.PACT was founded as a non-profit that would find these animals free, quality, volunteer foster homes while their owners were unable to house them, and then reunites them with their companion animals, giving peace of mind to military families, hospital patients and their families, and saves beloved companion animals from being lost, abused, or euthanized. As more and more people learn of PACT, its foster network has grown--beginning with six placements in its first year and now facilitating over 100 placements annually for pets in 23 states. The organization is looking to expand its local and national infrastructure of vets, trainers, kennels, and volunteers, diligently working toward the day when 0% of beloved pets are unwillingly surrendered to shelters because of a temporary medical crisis or military deployment.
