  • Lone Star Circle Of Care
Sr. Vice President, Aco Solutions Development
Lone Star Circle Of Care Jul 2012 - Oct 2013
    Georgetown, Texas, Us
A significant portion of my time was dedicated to Centex Systems Support Services, our health IT company established to deliver HIE and EHR products and services, general IT support and consulting services. During my time, I developed and implemented sales strategies and methodologies, defined pricing structures for new products, productized our services into sellable solutions and cultivated leads and opportunities into long term clients. For me, CSSS was about finding appropriate solutions to difficult problems through the use of innovative technology.I found myself involved as well with the Integrated Care Collaboration, the regional health information exchange serving 47 counties throughout Central Texas. I helped develop marketing and outreach strategies and developed a new business plan for the organization to maintain viability beyond grant funding. The new business plan leveraged the ICC’s strength in analytics and population health management metrics and highlighted the critical role of HIE in accountable care strategies.I was invited to speak at local and national events on the role of technology in accountable care organizations, specifically the application of Sabermetrics-esque analysis in population health strategies. With LSCC’s innovations in this space, I grew passionate about the use of analytics to study past performance and predict future behavior. LSCC delivers high quality, patient focused care to underserved populations and extends advanced theories in care to our patients. This has been a wonderful mission to support.
  • North Texas Accountable Healthcare Partnership Hie
    Executive Director
North Texas Accountable Healthcare Partnership Hie Dec 2010 - Jun 2012
As the founding Executive Director, I had the honor and pleasure to serve a board and community consisting of the most visionary and supportive professionals in our entire industry. The undying commitment from the Dallas-Fort Worth community was the foundation of a 4-year planning process culminating in the formation and implementation of a successful health information exchange in the North Texas region. In 2008, after an initial $80,000 seed round, we developed our first business plan. In 2010, our initiative was catalyzed by a second seed round and federal investment. We turned this $100,000 investment into our second business plan with more support from more community stakeholders than any past iteration. The execution of this plan allowed us to raise over $5 Million in grants and support from our community to build and implement a health information exchange serving one of the largest, non-state-based populations in the nation consisting of over 7 Million patients, 140 hospitals and 14,000 physicians. We questioned the current practices of health information exchange and HIE organizations. We challenged the standard HIE operations and built a scalable and sustainable utility for our partners. We also questioned the current state of health care in our community and, in 2008, begin to explore the theories of accountable care with self-insured employers, health plans, consumers, physicians, and hospitals which served as the foundation of our innovation with health information exchange.I’m incredibly proud of the dedication from this community and thankful for the opportunity to be involved. I’m especially appreciative of the support from our Board of Directors, specifically our first Chairman, Michael Darrouzet, my mentor and friend. We grew from humble beginnings using old cordless phones and plastic furniture to the most successful health information exchange in the State.

  • Dallas County Medical Society
    Director, Practice Advocacy And Economics
Dallas County Medical Society Mar 2007 - Dec 2010
    Dallas, Tx, Us
I joined DCMS in 2007 and immediately jumped into a new initiative to establish a “RHIO” in North Texas. This project grew in support and capabilities and ultimately turned into the North Texas Accountable Healthcare Partnership. I learned from our most respected and forward-thinking stakeholders during my time with this project sharing every success and failure with my boss (and eventual founding Chairman of the Board for the Partnership). In addition to the world of health information technology, I served our member physicians in areas of business, economics and policy focusing primarily on factors affecting the business of the independent medical practice. I served as staff lead for a number of committees dedicated to improving the lives of patients in North Texas and the viability of the physician practice and regularly published in the Dallas Medical Journal.
