Patent Prosecution

Draft and prosecute numerous patent applications for a variety of clients and across numerous technologies including business methods, internet commerce, finance, communications, electronic circuits, semiconductors, semiconductor manufacturing, etc. Manage and assist foreign prosecution counsel for clients. Manage support staff. Create and present law presentations to practice group.

Performed numerous Patent Prosecution task, mainly concentrating on claim drafting and creating arguments to traverse rejections sent via Office Actions from the PTO. Work also involved drafting memos dealing with different issue in patent litigation cases.

Estimated concrete placement and site-work for small to medium sized commercial and school properties. Created budgets, schedules, and work scope plans for current and future jobs. Worked with vendors to reduce job cost while creating a win-win situation. Responsible for minimum of $2 million in sales.

Principal designer of electronics for ultrasonic pipeline inspection tool. Designed and programmed software interface for a variable gas by-pass device. Authored complete user’s manual for variable by-pass unit. Performed extensive simulation and circuitry verification to achieve optimal performance. Supervised and assisted in field test of current designs and product modifications.

Electrical Project Lead for a product (Z45) requiring interfacing, communicating, and problem-solving with many functional groups, and the basic knowledge of all sub-systems within the product. Project Manager for a multi-million dollar ASIC project. Coordinated vendor selection, interfaced with vendor, and utilized working relationship with vendor to optimize design, in terms of system needs, performance, and cost. Responsibilities included, circuit verification, and final product testing, along with assuring continuity of supply during development and into production. Designed, implemented, and debugged system level electronics for inkjet printers. Wrote documentation for testing and evaluation of products.

Assisted Test Engineers with substation field changes were exposure was obtained to protection and control schemes. Completed numerous switching orders upon switching certification. Verified and tested several substation panels along with their corresponding schematics.
