I’m a full-stack Software & DevOps Engineer educated at TU Delft with plenty experience in TypeScript, Golang, React, GitLab CI, Terraform, MongoDB and many more.- I find pride in writing code that not only functionally works, but also looks good and is easy to understand.- I have a particularly keen eye for code quality & developer experience: I want my code to be understandable, usable, maintainable and extensible by me and my colleagues for years to come.- I also enjoy developing tools & automations that make the lives of me and my colleagues easier by taking away the boring, repetitive or complex tasks and replacing them with simple commands and automations.No horribly unmaintainable codebases on my watch!---I was born and raised in Rotterdam, then studied Computer Science at TU Delft obtaining a BSc and MSc degree. During my master’s degree I worked part-time as a software engineer at De Energiebespaarders, where I continued to work full-time after my graduation in 2021. After a total of 6 years of working there, I am now starting a new challenge as a Software & DevOps Engineer at Opinity!My goals strongly include improving the world and the society we live in. I feel like my duty in life is to help humanity make the world a better place and the best way for me to do that, is to use my skills as a software engineer to help companies and organisations that are working towards that goal.Furthermore, I am always eager to learn and improve myself and grow as a Software & DevOps engineer.

After completing my bachelor’s degree, I continued working at the company on various other projects as a part-time job while I started my master’s degree. After completing my master’s degree, I continued working at the company full-time.My role was diverse and full-stack, as is common when working within a small development team. I primarily focused on backend software engineering, but quickly also fulfilled the role of the DevOps engineer, maintaining the CI/CD pipelines, our infrastructure and the database. I was responsible for various projects, ranging from software development to employing effective static analysis and (end-to-end) testing, implementing developer tooling, infrastructure management and managing CI pipelines & automations.Within my team, I was affectionately known as Captain Code Quality for my strong focus on the quality of our code and our software as a whole. I was also the go-to person for Git and GitLab CI questions and issues, as well as Bash scripting, creating automations, advanced TypeScript and Golang discussions and general software engineering questions such as “How do I refactor and simplify this code effectively?” -
Research Intern - Software Engineering For AiIng Nov 2020 - Oct 2021I joined ING’s AI for FinTech Research Lab as a research intern to work on my master’s thesis. During this internship, I joined the ML Engineering chapter and followed one team of ML engineers for several months to get acquainted with the daily work of ML engineers and data scientists at ING. On several occassions, I presented my work to the chapter and to the team to receive feedback and further directions for my research. I also evaluated my ML project linter `mllint` (see my MSc thesis) with various ML engineers and data scientists across all ML Engineering chapters of ING. -
