I’m obsessed with driving positive change around me, if even incremental. In healthcare, incremental can change people’s lives forever. For the last 20 years, I’ve dedicated myself to being a part of some of the biggest changes in healthcare.I’ve built and led innovation centers, founded one of the world’s first digital health only research centers, been an operational leader to a $4B digital start-up, and have been part of some of the largest government and commercial transformations in the world. But what inspires me most is seeing both the dramatic and incremental improvements that digital health has to offer everyday. While these solutions have the potential to change our world, they also have the ability to enable an infusion scheduling nurse to, for the first time in weeks, take a lunch break. Or to support an underprivileged patient get home safely after an emergency visit. Or to let a loved one care for their aging parent. While we are forever focused on transformational change, we are inspired and motivated by the incremental. This inspiration drives our desire to bring our learnings to every digital health solution in the world. From these experiences, I’ve discovered four CRITICAL missteps that digital health products must avoid to make an impact big or small.
