I have been helping clients improve their community’s quality of life and boosting safety since the Loma Prieta Earthquake, 31 years ago. Over these few decades, those around me have relied on my uncanny knack for running towards challenges and helping sort out sticky situations. While each challenge is different, one thing remains. These challenges all involve people. People that deserve my respect, people that deserve my attention, and people that must be part of helping make this world a better place.It’s hard to imagine that the son of a Fuller Brush salesman and down-sized middle manager in the eighties could be part of delivering over $5B in civil infrastructure projects. I’ve been afraid of challenges, but I’ve had the courage to achieve more than I expected. And I still have a long way to go.I’m the 26-year long husband to my best friend in life. I’m grateful for two exceptional daughters that call me “daddy.” I’ve published a book, hosted a radio show, and appeared on television as both a guest and co-host.My technical specialty is bridges and buildings. I’ve experienced more than my share of once-in-a-lifetime projects. As these experiences continue, my secret sauce has boiled down to what I call trusted leadership. Trusted leadership happens when you mix equal parts exceptional skills - noble character and effective habits. This secret sauce has become richer through my experience working as an intern through regional management in our industry.
