I advised Fortune 500 C-level executives and Boards on why startup engagement capabilities are often an important part of a corporate’s growth strategy and what ‘good looks like’. Served as the Firm’s lead expert in designing and implementing many prominent corporation’s new or revised corporate venturing and startup engagement capabilities across many industries and geographies.

Led Konica Minolta's innovation strategy and new venture development efforts for North America, focusing on developing Konica Minolta’s next billion-dollar opportunities. Led startup partnerships, venture capital investments, new digital product development and eco‐system engagement efforts, working closely with Konica Minolta’s global business units. Focused on Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and robotics.

Earned some entrepreneurial stripes (and scars), raising more risk capital (at the time) than almost anyone else in the world for advanced livestock (dairy and beef) production. Acquired novel sensor IP from Raytheon and created a winning vision, strategy, detailed customer value proposition and quantified ROI for an underserved $20B+ ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) opportunity within agriculture. Successfully won prominent industry stakeholder and large customer buy-in as well as attracted three rounds of leading investment capital, including the New York Angels, the Farm Journal and a large customer. Won multiple public funding awards and became a finalist at the Mass Challenge accelerator.

Nth Power was a pioneering private venture capital firm specializing on cleantech opportunities with $420M under management. Firm employed a strategic Limited Partner (LP) model including: Chevron Technology Ventures, Dow Venture Capital, Acciona, Emerson Ventures, others.Involved in all aspects of the firm, including investment sourcing, thesis development, deal negotiation and structuring, investment and portfolio management (including company and fund valuation and IRR projection models as well as sustainability impact models), and Limited Partner reporting. Made several significant individual contributions to the firm, including expanding the firm’s activity to the east coast (led to sourcing fund’s largest investment), spearheading thought-leading events (enhanced firm’s network with Google, MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, others) and co-authoring a thought-leading innovation strategy whitepaper with the Fraunhofer Institute (attracted meaningful new deal flow, sourcing a Fund IV investment, and new Limited Partner interest).

The USFCC is the international industry association for the fuel cell and hydrogen industry with 120+ members including: General Motors, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, UTC, Chevron, Siemens, Department of Energy, others. I was recruited to the USFCC from a member organization.

BTI is a sustainability technology think tank serving government and private sector clients. I was recruited from Tufts University as an Associate and was then promoted to Program Manager and then to Technical Director in quick order.
