Upon returning to Israel, I was hired dually by Central Florida Hillel and Israel Experts to create dynamic programming and learning opportunities around Israel for university students in the greater Orlando area. This included arranging presentation and speakers series for the University of Central Florida, Rollins and Seminole State campuses: as such, I was responsible for contacting the guests, coordinating their visit and organizing their participation in a year-long speaker series.Primarily, I was the acting liaison between our American and Israeli offices and communicating the needs of both communities. In doing so, I was tasked with shaping educational programs that prepared students prior to visiting Israel and shaping their programming in Israel itself. I also worked closely with the Israeli Consulate General to connect our university community with a global community.On the national scale, I coordinated regional fellowships and partnerships. I provided opportunities of every background, interest and political affiliation the opportunity to engage in discussing Israel, Palestine, the Middle East and conflict resolution.

Israel Teaching Fellows provides high achieving college graduates with the opportunity to address Israel’s educational achievement gap and the widespread underperformance of youth in low-income communities on a 10-month English teaching, service learning program. I fostered creative English learning programs in conjunction with the UN and the Ministry of Education for disadvantaged Israeli elementary schools in Israel’s periphery while studying Hebrew and researching and presenting on Ethnic Identity Retention in Diaspora at conferences.I provided English learning for asylum seekers and refugees in Tel Aviv; contributed to the center’s programming, enhancing the provision of technology training, visa application services and Hebrew learning to ensure better integration and overall improved treatment of asylum seekers.

The action aspect is a product of the plethora of non-profits and charities partnered with RYOT, who provide the means for readers to become actively involved in the world around them.I curated stories, taking inspiration from the AP in addition to various news sources around the web, as well as generate my own opinion pieces on a variety of material. I volunteered in the English Tutoring Outreach Program for Sudanese Youth.I tutored for a variety of subjects and the children were as young as six and as old as sixteen. I gained proficiency in tutoring to those with English as a second language. Tutors acted as both tutors and activity coordinators, helping students with their subjects and also providing after-school mentoring and activities like dance and singing.
