About Brad W. Compton

As an experienced construction boilermaker and mechanical engineer, I have dedicated my time and focus to the design, fabrication, and construction of steel platework structures – API 650 Storage Tanks for the petroleum industry. Holding senior management positions, I built a small family business into a larger, more profitable entity. Thereafter, I led the rebuilding of a more expansive company from its relative dormancy in receivership to become an industry leader. I am a seasoned construction professional with considerable product and industry knowledge. I have managed a wide scope of multi-million dollar construction projects for customers such as Imperial Oil, Suncor, Syncrude, and Enbridge, demanding constant flexibility and prioritization. Applying a consensus building approach and rational judgment, I have implemented effective decisions in the best interests of all stakeholders, on behalf of the management team. Using practical understanding of organizational restructuring, I have ensured profitability, growth, and customer satisfaction.I have been considerably involved with Construction Trades labour relations, representing my employer on industry committees. As Chair of the Boilermaker Contractors Association, I led the employer caucus through negotiations and settlement of multi-provincial Collective Agreements for the Boilermaker Industry. Similarly, I served on the Board of Electrical Power Systems Construction Association, a multi-trade employer group, formulated to negotiate Collective Agreements for the Ontario power sector.Specialties: Construction Operations Management | Change Management | Problem Solving | Team Leadership | Project Management | Human Resources | Design & Drafting | Purchasing | Production | Health & Safety | Quality Assurance | Labour Relations | Team Building |Contract Negotiations | Facilities Management
