About Brianna Elliott

Currently finishing a PhD in Marine Science and Conservation at Duke University, I'm also a National Geographic Explorer and a finalist for the Presidential Management Fellowship program. My research broadly focuses on two major topics: 1) exploring questions about ocean diplomacy and international treaty-making for fisheries and protected species, with a regional focus on the Indian Ocean, 2) using trade and market measures to reduce bycatch, and 2) testing mixed-methods approaches (e.g. interviews, satellite) to illuminate information on data-poor fisheries in the Arabian Sea.
