DataStax is the commercial leader in Cassandra. I was brought in by the lead investor to set product direction, and stayed through to the hiring of a new CEO.

Greenplum: the petabyte-scale database for data warehousing and business intelligence. Greenplum was acquired by EMC in July 2010 and became the EMC Data Computing Products Division.At Greenplum I led Product Management & Product Marketing, reporting to the President. My team drove product strategy & vision, product requirements & definition, messaging & value proposition, technical field content, competitive analysis, and more.

A handful of startup engagements, including a larger project helping Varonis (enterprise access security) with its early product strategy and fundraising efforts.

Product manager for the 'next-generation' UI Framework -- a significant rework of the Siebel application platform (underlying Siebel's 200+ products) to better support modern task-oriented UI and business-process driven applications.

Was the 5th employee, and split my activities between engineering (C++, 3D rendering, distributed object framework) and product management (vision, feature prioritization, customer segmentation, etc).

Studied the behavior of leading databases engines (Oracle on OSF/1 and SQL Server on NT 4.0) and web servers on high-end DEC Alpha servers.
