Duties:Typical duties in primary MOS as a Motor Transport Operator (3531) include operating and maintaining tactical military and commercial motor vehicles. Day to day operations consist of transporting resources, Marines, equipment, and supplies in support of completing the overall mission of the unit. Lastly, as a CMT one of your most important duties is running/ controlling live fire ranges.Accomplishments:• Monitored, collected, and accounted for over $2.1 million worth of serialized weapons and optics while acting as the Weapons Non-Commissioned Officer for a battalion sized unit for over 1,000 personnel in order to maintain unit readiness.• Conducted pre-firing inspections on all the battalion’s crew-served weapon systems, enabling force protection during missions operating in some of the most kinetic regions of Afghanistan.• Created 27 separate periods of instruction on machine gun employment and operation, significantly improving the combat readiness and proficiency of all primary and secondary machine gunners, resulting in 70 Marines assessed as experts consistent with the infantry training and readiness manual.
