I analyzed electric utility resource planning, ratemaking, cost-of-service, and power procurement issues at an economic consultancy. I built, rebuilt, and reverse-engineered economic models, questioned underlying assumptions, implemented robust alternatives, and helped craft testimony on the results. • Developed quantitative analyses on the economics and necessity of 16 power plants in seven states; suggested reasonable, least-cost alternatives. • Modeled alternative rate designs for encouraging efficient consumption in BC, CA, KY, MN, & UT. • Built electricity price forecasts for PJM and ISO-NE markets that integrated price data, ancillary services, load shapes, commodities forwards, and other factors.• Wrote python scripts for data download, management, and analysis. Tamed, scrubbed, and integrated 100,000+ row datasets from a variety of sources.

Development of the first national, real-time, hub height wind information service to serve ISOs, wind power developers and operators, power traders, government and resource analysts. Equipped existing communications towers with industry-standard meteorological sensors resulting in ‘bankable’ datasets.I established the operations group at a provider of wind data to the power sector.• Solved problems while climbers 300’ up tower and clock ticking at $2,000/day (32 sites, 18 months).• Built and managed a supplier network capable of coping with quick turnarounds, minimal inventory, flexible bills of material, and just-in-time logistics.
