Since 2012, I have annually been the leader for a 6 week module/section in the one-year program "Digital Lead" (previously "Interactive Art Director") at Hyper Island called "The Business".The module runs over 6 weeks. The learning goals for students are: to gain the skills to start and build a digital business: such as a digital agency, a digital product- or service startup. Emphasis is put on the ability to develop and build a sustainable and creative organization, client relationships, as well as managing innovation, quality and profitability in the client solutions.The program attracts 60-80 international students, all of whom have been working in the design industry for a few years. The students work in groups with external clients with real world briefs. Beata is responsible for securing that the module is relevant for future needs of the industry, creating the curriculum, creating and presenting key lectures, selecting and inviting external guest lecturers and securing the quality of the external clients and briefs.
