Responsible for analytics consulting, account management and sales to public sector clients in California. Consulting on advanced healthcare analytics solutions with clients in the County of Los Angeles Health Agency, Riverside University Health System, County of San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health, LA Care, and Inland Empire Health Plan.

Part-time lecturer teaching classes in data mining, business intelligence, and quantitative methods to undergraduate students in the College of Business Administration

Responsible for business development and account management activities focusing on business intelligence and general management consulting services to clients in the southwest.

Conducted two one-month condensed courses on Business Intelligence and Spreadsheet Modeling to advanced finance students at this premier Vietnamese university.

Provided project management consulting services to the CIO and the Project Management Organization (PMO) of a major utility to implement a new software development methodology and standards and procedures for the PMO as well as to provide mentoring to project management staff. Also managed major projects in the areas of server consolidation ($1.5M), disaster recovery ($3.5M) , network upgrades ($5M), and Exchange upgrades ($3M).

Responsible for business development and account management with this premier internet consulting firm. In a very difficult business environment, sold and managed an internet strategy contract with a startup media and entertainment company and a web content management system implementation project with a major commercial real estate investment firm and a $3M web development project for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in a procurement that was bid on by 35 firms.

Responsible for business development and account management. In first six months, sold and managed five accounts that accounted for nearly 50% of the region’s revenue. Clients included a $2M contract with an internet startup in the media/entertainment industry to develop an e-commerce and content management capabilitiy based on the ATG Dynamo product suite. Other accounts included managing a successful strategy engagement consulting with an advertising/media company on moving their business to on-line retailing and managing an account with a brick and mortar company in the construction industry to develop and implement their on-line strategy.

Continued activities described below after MCI Systemhouse was acquired by EDS.

Responsible for selling and managing the client relationship for MCI Systemhouse’s largest client in the Southwest region (Experian) as well as a large, privately-held Internet Service Provider. Responsible for delivery oversight of multiple ongoing projects, overall client relationships, and financial and contractual matters. Accounts generated approximately $6M revenue per year at attractive profit margins. Named to the 1998 MCI Systemhouse Excellence Club consisting of the top 200 performers in the company for the year. (1997-1999)Account Manager/Project Executive for a large transformational outsourcing contract with a major petroleum refining and distribution company (Ultramar). Responsible for managing a 40-person Applications Software Maintenance and Development staff in the US and Canada as well as the delivery of a variety of Data Center services (MVS, VM, and Tandem processing) to Ultramar. Position involved extensive interface with the Ultramar CIO and other operations and marketing executives. The total account value was approximately $50M over five years. Through a variety of cost management and contract re-negotiations, I was able to take this formerly money-losing account and generate $2.5M in unplanned profit in 1997. (1995 - 1997)

Held a series of increasingly responsible positions involving, project management, functional management, and business development. - Manager of a start-up business unit within TRW focused on systems integration and software development for state and local government agencies. Won all three targets pursued: a $1 million contract for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, a $2.6 million contract for the California Department of Justice, and a $41M contract for the California Department of Corrections. (1992 - 1995) - Responsible for the performance of systems integration and test activities on all of the projects in the $200M Division. Managed approximately 100 engineers and other technical personnel. Responsible for assembling engineering teams, assigning them to projects, and assuming responsibility for their technical performance. The position also included hiring/firing, staff development and training, and compensation management. (1991 - 1992) - Software development, business analysis, and project management on a variety of major systems integration contracts for the U.S. Army. (1981 - 1991)
