TimelyText provides talent and services for instructional design, technical writing, corporate and marketing communications, editing, as well as project management of training, documentation, and communication-related projects. As recruiting lead, I'm responsible for getting to know potential candidates, keeping them posted on our opportunities and helping them through the hiring process. At my core, I'm a storyteller!Exactly how has changed through the years, going from writing college basketball analysis in the pages of a newspaper to now, telling the stories of the people of TimelyText. Nowadays, that means helping a talented technical writer land a new gig by laying out their skills, or even a quick blog post about a neat project one of our instructional designers is finishing in pharma. The timing of my journalism career met with the boom of social media and online content, giving me the opportunity to experiments with all kind of storytelling and the different platforms to do so. I'm still fascinated by those, and particularly the how + why certain stories reach certain audiences with certain platforms. I've taught myself a bit of graphic design, photography and video editing along the way.I'm excited for my current journey in marketing + recruiting, where I'm conquering a new challenge in using storytelling to help grow a small, homegrown company right here in the Triangle! A few fun facts!- I'm a native of Durham, and after several years away, returned for good in 2016. There are positives and negatives with how the city has grown. - I published my first "magazine" in fifth grade, delivering it monthly to my classmates for 10 cents. - My cat has more Instagram followers than me. (He posts better content!)- I'm technically a technical writer now, having edited and rewritten a small document for a client.- Perhaps the world's foremost expert on UNCW and CAA basketball 2004 through present day.
