I'm a member of the non-profit Lake Oswego Sustainability Network (LOSN), which "provides grassroots leadership, inspiration, resources, opportunities for collaboration, and innovative solutions to help Lake Oswego become more sustainable." I'm on the Home Electrification, Communications, and IT committees; I support and provide guidance with regard to technical tools, security; and I support their Wordpress website.

As of the start of 2015, most of the web development staff moved to Marketing. While my official title (Senior IT Manager) hasn't changed, the work I do is more aligned with the title of "Senior Web Architect". In my current role, I am responsible for the following activities (among others):* Ensure that the software and hardware infrastructure on which our web sites are built are architected optimally for performance, sustainability, supportability, cost, and scalability.* Manage vendor relationships.* Monitor site performance, proactively ensure site changes minimize performance impact, work with content authors to optimize their content for performance, troubleshoot and remediate other performance issues.* Provide technical guidance to Marketing and IT regarding issues related to Web content management systems, HTTP(S), the Web, CDN/DDoS/WAF services, monitoring services, geographic differences and issues.* Provide business analyses to Marketing and IT regarding performance and visitor KPI's.A few key activities I've performed in this role:* Architect for migration from Drupal 6 to Drupal 8.* Selection and implementation of Cloudflare for CDN/DDoS/WAF services globally.* Architect solution for implementation of our China mobile web site (m.tek.com.cn), enabling China-based authors to continue working in our Drupal environment and having their content automatically published on the mobile site. For this project (as well as for providing SEO consulting) I traveled to China 5 times in 2018 for a total of 6 weeks.* Provided technical guidance in project to select a new CMS (Sitecore), liased with the development agency to ensure they understood how our sites are architected, how they works, and what they do; liased with the IaaS providers to ensure our hardware infrastructure is correctly architected and priced.* Architected solution available to all OpCo's in Fortive (Tektronix's parent corp) enabling compliance with Russia's data privacy regs.

Willowbrook is a 27-year old day camp that provides a stunningly enriching environment. Campers choose what they want to pursue, including such activities as pottery, photography, painting, singing, dancing, acting, and the environment. But even more significant is that many of the campers return for many years; and as the campers get older, they take on more responsibility, becoming guides and mentors for the younger children. I have heard from many alumni talking about how their best memories and closest friends were made at the camp.My daughter has gone to Willowbrook for 7 years, and I have seen and felt the effects of this environment first-hand. My love for the camp led me to accepting an invitation to become a participant on the board.
