The United States Digital Service is a startup created in The White House, using design and technology to deliver better services to the American people. As a Digital Services Expert in our Engineering community I embed within federal agencies to add lead engineering and executive technical consulting support to projects across the executive branch. Housed within the Executive Office of the President, we are engaged in technology problems at the highest levels of government and at a scale that must support hundreds of millions of foreign and domestic citizens.

Provided data engineering and analytics support for several efforts related to the customer experience executive order. My primary focus was on efforts to provide better data tools to support early childhood (0-5) programs and families facing financial shock.

I was responsible for helping the digital experience team transform their customer engagement experience in a traditional IT environment. Our focus was on building Agile process, making better use of a wide range of vendor and bespoke built solutions and modernizing IT delivery.

At Stark & Wayne, I had the opportunity to lead a globally distributed team of engineering directors, software architects, and cloud-focused engineers. I learned to appreciate how much energy and satisfaction can be gained by focusing on the human elements of software engineering. As an engineering director at Stark & Wayne, I was responsible for the technical delivery, staffing, and coordination of engineering initiatives. With clients including governments and Fortune 500 enterprises I was able to develop a broad set of skills for managing projects and leading technical teams.

Focusing on platform-as-a-service offerings such as CloudFoundry, My role here is to provide operations support, business and platform analysis and engineering support for clients who are building out or choosing cloud based solutions.

I was brought on to provide executive support and advisement in the cloud and mobile computing spaces. My role was to analyze and architect solutions to transition a 30-year-old application on to a modern SaaS model. This evolution was successful and I am proud that the software we built here has literally saved lives.

I was brought on to be responsible for the technical leadership, mentoring, and organization of a fast-paced development and engineering operations team. My team developed and maintained Liaison's flagship product ( WebAdMIT ) as well as a large suite of ETL and data management tools required to interface with upstream data sources. WebAdMIT played a key role in Liasion's acquisition by private equity firm Warburg Pincus, and I stayed on through the acquisition, helping the team navigate change and growth.

At Division by Zero our areas of focus were web applications, mobile development, and building integrations with legacy software, Here I developed a track record of successful software delivery while maintaining long-term relationships with clients.

At Engine Yard I was responsible for daily technical interaction with start-ups all over the world. While responsible for deploying, maintaining, and scaling applications in a wide range of technologies but primarily serving applications based around the Ruby on Rails stack. I have been responsible for the initial deployment and application scaling for quite a few businesses that have grown to become household names.

I started this consultancy to address the need for affordable and reliable on-premise managed services for small to medium-sized businesses and non-profit organizations. Our primary business model was based on third party network administration but we also did a significant amount of software development, IT Consulting, technical training, business analysis, and workflow optimization.
