Since my girlhood days of sneaking under the covers for “just one more chapter,” I’ve always been enchanted by the literary world. It’s a passion that’s led me down many paths and into many roles, including college newspaper editor, English language teacher, local journalist and freelance writer. My most recent journalism work has appeared in WBUR, Input Mag, The Daily Yonder, The Concord Monitor and New England Public Media, among other publications. I regularly write for the State House News Service in Massachusetts covering municipal government, as well as the Granite State News Collaborative in New Hampshire, where I am a freelance investigative reporter on the equity team. As I’ve grown in my own writing, I’ve also grown to love sharing the craft of storytelling with others. I founded McIntyre Editorial Services to do just that — because whether you’re a brand or a budding author, there is power in an authentic story. Drawing on degrees in journalism and creative writing, as well as more than six years of experience working with marketing firms and media publications, I offer editing services for:- Fiction and non-fiction manuscripts- Marketing and promotional content- Newspaper and magazine articles- Personal statements and admissions essaysI am a trained developmental editor through the Editorial Arts Academy and am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association. Some of my favorite genres include thriller, mystery and memoir, but I will rarely pass up a project that piques my interest, regardless of category. My goal as a book editor is not only to uncover the best version of your manuscript, but to help you improve your skills as a writer. I particularly enjoy the teaching aspect of the work and often work with novice writers and authors choosing to self publish. To me, editing is a collaborative process, and my hope is that by the end of our work together, both of us will have learned something new.
