At Aveson Schools, as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, I play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding our educational framework and teaching strategies. I collaborate with educators to design and implement innovative, student-centered curricula that align with our school's mission and standards. I oversee the development of instructional practices, provide professional development for teachers, and use data-driven insights to enhance student learning outcomes. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, I ensure that all students receive a high-quality, personalized education that prepares them for success.

As an assistant principal, I support the principal in overseeing the daily operations of our school. I assist with administrative tasks, manage school policies and procedures, and coordinate schedules and resources. It is my responsibility to handle disciplinary matters, enforce rules, and promote a positive school climate. I provide instructional leadership by supporting teachers, observing classroom instruction, and facilitating professional development opportunities. Collaboration with staff is essential as we work together to improve teaching practices and enhance student learning outcomes. Engaging with parents, addressing concerns, and fostering community partnerships are also crucial aspects of my role. Additionally, I prioritize school safety, analyze data to make informed decisions, and step in to assume leadership responsibilities when the principal is absent.

I provide ongoing professional development, resources, and coaching to Aveson educators to support the delivery of culturally relevant curriculum, culturally responsive pedagogy, and anti-racist instructional practices, as a key component of the Personalized Mastery Learning (PML) promise for all students. I ensure that school-wide curriculum, assessments, differentiated instruction, and more detailed instructional strategies are aligned to the Common Core State Standards. I collaborate with the Site Directors, leadership team and advisors to address the needs of Aveson’s diverse student body. I project and encourage an equitable, inclusive and community atmosphere within the school.

-Implement a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, discussions anddemonstrations appropriate to the diverse student population.-Curate and developed personalized lesson and achievement plans toensure success for all learners-Design & implement instructional resources using Bloom Taxonomy and ADDIE-based models to ensure lessons and activities meet the diverse modalities of our student body. -Establish clear and authentic objectives for all lessons, units and projects. -Encourage students to persevere with challenging tasks.
