I am a highly motivated part 1 Architectural Assistant at MDG Architects with a BA (Hons) in Architecture from Birmingham City University. Throughout my degree I have developed a passion for sustainable architecture, the Passivhaus standards in my technical modules and design projects, biophilic design from my work in garden landscaping and plant knowledge, as well as the blending of existing buildings reusing the old to create something new with contemporary design. I have always enjoyed working with my hands, from delicate modelmaking and dioramas to full scale building projects. The understanding of how something is constructed or assembled has always piqued my curiosity, through this I have explored the practical application of multiple materials, eg brick laying, ceramics, clay plastering, cob construction, carpentry, Cornish stone walling, concrete moulding, flat roofing systems, lime rendering, lime pointing, paving and textiles.From a young age I have been able to work successfully as part of a team and have enjoyed challenges. For example I performed as a professional lead soloist at the age of 12 in front of more than 2000 people.My career aim is to acquire a role that will allow me to utilise these skills and develop in the field of sustainability and passivhaus designs.
