Byron Handy has over 30 years of experience in master planned community development. He has worked for homebuilders, developers and general contractors on projects throughout Arizona and Hawaii; creating more than 25,000 finished lots and 6 golf courses. SunWest Contracting was incorporated in August of 2018 and focuses on building infrastructure for production homebuilders and developers in Arizona. SunWest is currently working on wet and dry utilities, concrete and paving projects in Queen Creek, Peoria, Phoenix, Buckeye, Scottsdale and Pinal County. The two principals of the company are Byron Handy and Lorenzo Chavez. SunWest Contracting is a licensed General Contractor; KA Dual Engineering.

Byron started BFH Development in January of 1999 to develop raw land for homebuilders in Arizona. Areas of expertise include: land acquisitions, due diligence, entitlements, planning, engineering and construction management. Prior to BFH Development, he spent 5 years managing land development activities for the Del Webb Corporation. His projects include Sun City West, Sun City Grand, Anthem Phoenix and Continental Ranch. Byron continues to operate BFH Development and SunWest Contracting.

Byron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction from Arizona State University. After attending ASU, Byron moved to Maui where he spent 3 years as a Project Manager building subdivisions, golf courses and commercial projects for a General Site Work Contractor.
