Experience is the best teacher! Through experience, we are able to gain knowledge and perspectives, that equip us with tools to help navigate any difficult challenges ahead. My life experiences have given me abundant resources and tools that have aided me in becoming a great man, a great educator, and a great leader. I have spent the past 15 years in education, from child care centers to the public school system, I have worked in well funded programs and programs that lacked funds. And in each of those spaces, I have been able to greatly impact the lives of students, families, and staff that I come in contact with,while always achieving my goal of leaving places better than when I came. At every level I learned life lessons that have prepared me to continue to make even greater impacts on students, families, teachers, support staff, and other school leaders. My experiences taught me as an early childhood educator, I have the challenge to educate the youngest minds while helping them build strong learning foundations. My time spent loving on military families reminds me that we only have students for a short time and that we must provide them with as many communication skills, life experiences, and love as we can. Teaching in East End Henrico, where I taught an all-boys class, I learned that EVERYONE learns differently, and not because of gender, we all learn differently. Lastly, my time in Goochland County, reminded me that teaching should be fun, fun not just for students to be engaged, but teachers deserve to have fun as well. Each teacher has their own life experiences that have bought them to this point in life, and as an Instructional Coach, I want to support teachers and help them let their life experiences bring peace, love, and fun back to their classroom. I know that I am qualified for this position because my experiences have prepared me to be a mindful, passionate, strong, supportive, Instructional Coach.
