Having started my career as a trainee, I quickly attained my Investment Advice Diploma and then the Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). These qualifications provided me with the platform to start advising clients and contribute to the growth of the Nottingham Office throughout the East Midlands.Principally, the role is focussed on listening to and understanding my clients’ circumstances, and then constructing a bespoke portfolio of investments, with the appropriate use of tax wrappers, to deliver their stated objectives. This is achieved with the help of an award-winning research capability.I am actively engaged with the office’s business development and marketing activities. This includes working closely with my Financial Planning colleagues and external experts.Back in 2018, Brewin Dolphin introduced the ‘People Awards’, celebrating our colleagues’ dedication to our 3 core values of Genuine, Expert and Ambitious and recognising staff tenure and CSR efforts. I was very humbled to be recognised by my colleagues in the ‘Genuine’ category for going out of my way to integrate new members of the office into the team and upholding the highest standards of integrity with my clients.

After several years of contributing to the success of the office, I attained promotion to Assistant Director in February 2020.As well as my core client activities, I am now part of a dedicated team that liaises with local professional advisers. I sit on a variety of internal committees to help initiatives on both a national and local level, aiming to exploit some of the skills I have acquired during my Cranfield MBA.I also work within our Court of Protection team, assisting vulnerable clients and those who are unable to manage their own, often complex, affairs and needs due to their injuries, including severe brain injury along with ‘hidden’ disabilities.The office’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts are also very close to my heart. I have delivered grants to a number of local charitable causes and frequently participate in our volunteer day allocation, having recently helped Nottinghamshire Hospice and the Rainbows Hospice for children and young people. I organise the office’s now infamous annual charity conker tournament which brings local business leaders together in support of our chosen charity. Outside the office I support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
