Byron’s career started in the production industry under a technical traineeship, working primarily as a sound engineer and AV Technician. After several years working in venues and outdoor arenas with the occasional touring show, he took a focus with installed environments and a role working for a privatised business, previously part of the Federal Attorney General’s Department.During his role as a technical engineer he was responsible for the implementation of Video Conferencing, Court Recording and Sound Reinforcement systems within Federal Judicial Departments Australia wide.After a couple of years, he was offered a role as NSW state technical manager but declined the offer due to family commitments and the opportunity to pursue his own venture.Rabone Systems was born with a focus in Court Room Technology and became the largest supplier to Queensland Justice for technology within less than 5 years. In that time the organisation delivered technology to over 35 courtrooms reaching as far as Thursday Island to Kingaroy and setting the benchmark for technology implementation in the Courtroom.With the marketplace becoming volatile and driven around price, the company direction turned to the High End Residential Market which had a focus on quality and performance.For several years Rabone Systems delivered solutions throughout Australia with a direction in software development rather than custom programming methods used by its competitors, giving customers a much more feature rich and robust solution.With a large portion of the company’s revenue coming from a discretional spending industry, the direction to move back into commercial projects in construction and corporate markets was made to further strengthen its future. At the helm now for more than 18 years the focus is to continue to grow Rabone Systems with people who are inspired to be the best at what they do.
