Eastside Pathways is a partnership of nearly 70 public, private, and nonprofit organizations, working collectively on the Eastside to attain better outcomes for kids.Eastside Pathways (EP) is a member of StriveTogether, a national network of 70 community partnerships that use the principle of Collective Impact framework as the way to effect deep, long-lasting systemic change to support local education systems. The EP backbone, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supports the partnership by engaging community stakeholders to address systemic barriers through alignment of work, ongoing facilitation, communication, data reporting, and logistical and administrative support.The EP partnership, a group of more than 60 public, private, and nonprofit organizations, includes Bellevue and Lake Washington school districts, the City of Bellevue, the City of Redmond, parent groups, businesses, funders, families, and youth.It unites around common goals, measurements, and strategies to maximize each child’s opportunity for a productive, fulfilling life.Strategic Planning Committee

LWCLC includes parents, community members and leaders, and school volunteers workingto unite the communities of Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish to support our 52 schools. It is a citizen-based organization founded in 1978 to promote quality education for all LWSD studets. LWCLC informs voters about school levy and bond elections and directs efforts toward ensuring their passage. Served as Co-President and Co-Exec. Chair of Advisory Council 2009-10 term (plus interim executive director duties ); recruited the co-Pres. Wartelle, and served additional committee chairmanships leading through the organization's strategic evolution to redefine its community relationships, mission, resource development and fundraising, programs, and governance; Chair Exec. Dir. Search, Executive Comm., Treasurer, Compensation, and Governance Committees. LWSF serves the communities of Kirkland, Redmond and Sammamish, and 25,000 students in the LW School District.

Co-initiated the formation of volunteer citizen group partnering with Lake Washington School Board, District Administration, Education Association, and PTSA to mobilize public awareness of the consequences of state funding on school district budget and services.

A coalition of ed funding advocates in western Washington - currently inactive. Implemented WSPTA’s legislative advocacy around Basic Ed Funding Issue; co-developed implementation strategies; co-authored educational, instructive, and mobilization materials; presented to groups throughout the community.

Annual legislative advocacy event in Olympia. Lead Chair, with co-chair Shelley Kloba, led membership and coalition advocacy event in Olympia to match the political needs in the legislative Session, culminating with a public rally on the steps to the Capital Legislative Building; identify goals and tools to mobilize PTA members and advocacy partners to engage and influence legislators in a year-round lobbying program; create all-new infrastructure, processes and materials, from web resources to partner cultivation and documentation; coordinated management over the year of major partner organization and public officials; produced a comprehensive Project Report.

WSPTA Policy Subcommittee: developer of informational tools, materials and processes to membership and public on the work of the WA Legislative Basic Education Finance Joint Task Force; engage members to personally advocate with their legislators and policy makers.

Industriously created and grew each aspect of this trend setting company by learning through hands-on, find-a-solution-to-every-problem self-training.

Japan - 1995 – 96 Business: Cultivated Garuda’s vendor relationship and assisted distributor, Intertec, Inc., Tokyo, with their retail distribution channels; presented at Intertec’s Tokyo sales convention.Asia, South & Central - 1989 Extensive Travel:Eight months of ground-level, cross-country travel through the Himalaya of Nepal, India, Kashmir and on through the Karakorum of Pakistan and across Pakistan’s NW Frontier to China and Afghanistan borders; continued on through Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Japan.

Bellevue, WA Office: Advanced the new NW property management division for this national commercial real estate development company; quickly promoted to the top regional commercial executive position. Developed new management and leasing structures for $17 million (1989) of diverse properties.
