My professional approach focuses on clear communication with clients and, as needed, their families and their accounting and legal advisors. This helps ensure that their specific short and long-term objectives are achieved as tax-efficiently as possible. By working in this collaborative way, I enjoy creating lasting client relationships and providing beneficial and practical tax-related solutions and advice.I bring over fifteen years of tax-focused public practice experience including planning for private companies and their shareholders, estate and post-mortem tax planning, and expertise in dealing with a wide-range of domestic and cross-border tax issues. A significant part of my practice involves providing tax advisory services to other accounting firms and their clients - on a general basis, or for particular planning arrangements (e.g. succession planning, reorganizations, estate planning, sales or purchases of businesses). I am a CPA, CA (Chartered Accountant) and have completed the CICA's In-Depth tax program as well as the Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner-Manager. I hold a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Victoria and I am multi-lingual, speaking French and conversational Japanese.
