It all started at the University of Hamburg, where I received my PhD in analytical organic chemistry in 1995. During my doctorate, I had the opportunity to do research in Brazil - an experience that had a huge impact on me.After my doctorate, I went to Montreal in 1996 as a postdoc at the McGill Cancer Center, where I delved deeper into the fields of healthcare and life sciences in Irving W. Wainer's group. In 1997, I joined the “Biotechnology Taskforce” at Strathmann AG and gained my first start-up experience with the founding of CellTec GmbH.In 1999 I moved to the medical department as a scientific consultant for pharmaceuticals and in 2002 I took over the sales and marketing of research reagents at Strathmann Biotech GmbH.In 2006 I decided to do my own thing and founded Active Bioscience GmbH,specializing in research reagents in the life sciences.At the same time, I was Managing Director of PetroTech GmbH, the German subsidiary of PeproTech Inc. one of the leading companies for recombinant proteins, until 2019.Since 2019, I have been fully focused on Active Bioscience GmbH and have also started management consulting for life sciences companies as a complementary line of business. My focus is on strategy consulting, sourcing, project management and innovation management - especially for start-ups, biotech and diagnostics companies.I am always happy to make exciting contacts here on LinkedIn, exchange experiences and work together on innovative projects.
