About Akash Chauhan

Akash is currently perusing a Ph.D. in physics at York University with a focus on the application of micro photonic technologies in space. He has experience ranging the entire optical system development pipeline. 1. Optical modeling (integrated photonics and free space) using various multiphysics simulation software.2. Routing large-scale (100+ I/O) integrated optoelectronic layouts. 3. Developing optical testbeds for (micro-)optical systems with various electronic and optical subsystems, and using said testbed to conduct tests for characterization. In addition to his technical skills, he also has a wealth of experience working with a large team, alongside some experience with managing teammates in said team. He hopes to graduate and be able to do research academically or in the industry in one of the wide range of topics he is interested in.
