Profile bio

About Caitlin Bowler

Currently Experience Design Manager (previously Lead UX Researcher) at Activate Care, where our Community Health Workers work with Medicaid beneficiaries to find the resources they need to be healthy and coach them on self-efficacy more generally. As Lead UX Researcher I planned and led generative research projects with our clients, Medicaid beneficiaries, Community Health Workers, and individuals who use assistive technology to access the web and delivered findings and insights to teams across the company. I've also planned and executed a range of usability testing projects, both moderated and unmoderated, to drive user-centered design decisions. I love the collaborative opportunities this work affords! Prior, ten years researching and designing graduate curricula in human-centered design at Harvard Business School and, previously, facilitating multi-stakeholder urban planning processes at a range of scales. Recognized as a creative and collaborative colleague who brings insights and ideas to every challenge. Committed to effective design processes that are iterative and based on a culture of open sharing, constructive critique, and collective learning. Delivers high quality outcomes, from written deliverables to impactful workshops and experiences, with a “get-it-done” attitude.

Listed skills include Research, Adobe Creative Suite, Proposal Writing, Public Speaking, and 7 others.

Activate Care has launched a program, Path Assist, designed to screen Medicaid beneficiaries for social needs and, for those who screen positive and enroll in the program, connect them to our own Community Health Workers (CHWs). The CHWs work with clients to connect them to resources, while coaching them along the way. This is 360 degree solution, of which the company's flagship SaaS platform is just one element. As we have built out this solution I have worked on a range of projects in software, communications, and operations that have client or CHW-facing components. These have included: - Conceiving, planning, and executing research projects into CHW experiences on the job and Medicaid beneficiaries' experiences using technology to navigate complex systems- Researching the foundational elements of a Health-focused SMS Messaging Program, with a focus on txt4baby.org- Developing accessibility-oriented personas, based on interviews with individuals who use assistive technologies to access digital media and research into inclusive design practices- Conducting internal stakeholder interviews and workshops to scope projects and create alignment- Building customer journey maps, service blueprints, and other artifacts to facilitate collaboration across departments- Planning and running usability testing for all kinds of software projects - Conducting usability audits
