Investor & Advisor ► Fintech / Start-Ups / Mortgage & Lending / Client Experience / Digital Strategy

Current
Qcfintech

The continuing development of new fintech start-ups will transform the mortgage industry by allowing institutions to partner with companies that have an edge in specific components of the digital experience, rather than having to build their own technology platforms. My experience in using fintech to transform companies started with my leadership of LendingTree, which was itself a disruptor in the industry, introducing digital acquisition of clients to the lending space. At Capitol One I developed strategies to grow digital marketing, and because of this background was recently tapped to start up Citi’s Digital Bank, creating the roadmaps to develop their digital client experience.Advising and investing in young companies that are innovating in financial technology was a natural addition to my career. Leveraging my experience with the application of cutting-edge technology and my deep knowledge of the mortgage industry, I have partnered with QCFintech, a start-up incubator and consulting firm, to guide and grow fintech start-ups. I am engaged with the fintech community around the mortgage space looking for opportunities to construct a new form of client experience in mortgage lending that is built on partnership with various start-ups.Current projects:Advisor and investor to ESGRO and One DonationOfficial advisor to BotsplashI welcome discussion with start-ups, private equity firms, and mortgage institutions.cddavies12@gmail.com

Ceo Of Citi Mortgage | Head Of Global Mortgage ► Sales / Negotiation / Outsourcing / Partnerships

New York, New York, Us

Global Mortgage operates in 10 countries with over 6,000 associates and $1.8 Billion in revenues. While Head of Global Mortgage I was also CEO of Citi Mortgage, their U.S. subsidiary. My initial directive was to grow the U.S. mortgage business. By establishing a culture of disciplined execution, upgrading leadership talent, and leveraging my 30 years of management experience in financial services and mortgage banking, I exceeded all goals established prior to my arrival, including revenues, expense, CRA, EBIT, and ROA, and by 2016 JD Power ranked Citi #1 for purchase transactions. That same year, the executive leadership made the strategic decision to optimize for return on capital for the overall bank by minimizing the mortgage servicing owned. My role was then to orchestrate a transformation of the mortgage company while maintaining service to our most valuable clients.Key components of this transformation:► Securing, negotiating, and delivering on the sale of $100 Billion in mortgage servicing rights ► Outsourcing the operations of a $60 Billion mortgage servicing portfolio► Entering into partnership with Black Knight and Digital Risk to offer digital mortgage origination and to improve the digital client experienceExecution of these complex processes additionally required maintaining a positive, productive, and healthy working environment while decreasing the workforce synchronous with the decrease of mortgages being serviced. While Citi maintains a mortgage organization, its size and structure now optimizes return on capital while maximizing revenue.

Interim Leader Of Digital Bank ► Start-Up / Digital Roadmapping

New York, New York, Us

This position was concurrent with my duties as CEO of Citi Mortgage and Head of Global Mortgage. Because of my digital background from LendingTree, I was tapped to start up Citi’s Digital Bank. My major initiative was to develop the digital roadmap to get us from start-up to client acquisition in the most efficient and effective manner. This included determining the proper order of operations, in-housing components vs. partnering with smaller companies with expertise in specific areas, developing digital marketing and digital acquisition strategies, acquiring customers, branding, and delivering on branding promises.

Chief Executive Officer ► Merger / Business Model Transformation / Regulatory Agency Interaction

New York, Ny, Us

QBE North America was a $1.5 Billion insurance carrier and service provider to the mortgage industry and a subsidiary of QBE Insurance Group. Broadening my industry experience while remaining within the mortgage space, I became CEO during a time of profound internal and external changes.Internally, QBE had purchased two forced-placed insurance companies and it was my job to integrate the two companies into one while simultaneously transforming the newly integrated entity into a shared services business model.Externally, the government agencies that regulate the mortgage industry were initiating sweeping changes to regulations and employing additional scrutiny on the mortgage industry. During my previous work at LendingTree, Wachovia, and Capitol One, I had developed an excellent, trusted reputation with the various agencies including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, OCC, and CFPB. I leveraged that reputation to navigate QBE through the regulatory changes and interaction with these agencies.
