Starting as one of the youngest teaching assistants at my high school, I spent many of my lunch periods in junior year hosting AP Calculus AB review sessions, grading homework, and shadowing instruction to help answer students' questions. I aimed to make the course material as approachable as possible, encouraging engagement and positivity in the class. That same year, I stayed after school multiple times a week to work one-on-one with other students to review essays and writing strategies for AP English Literature and Composition, a position I continued into my senior year.

In this selective research program, I delved into a college-credit Environmental Studies individual project, specifically studying waste creation and management from scientific, social, political, and logistical viewpoints. With the help of my mentor and my cohort, I wrote a paper concerning the effects of uranium mining on the water quality of the Navajo region. As a Member of the Pioneer Scholar Committee, I was also able to organize and lead events uniting the Scholar Community.
