I was recruited by Dr. Gerhard Stroink of the Dalhousie University Physics department to be the first interpreter at the newly opened Discovery Center science museum. This was a Saturday and Sunday 16 hour per week position. Over time, I came to design and deliver workshops, went on tour with some travelling science exhibits, and made regular appearances on local television explaining various science phenomena.
