As the Applications System Analyst for the Information Services Department, I am responsible for developing and maintaining databases and research sources. I complete data collection and analysis from the meditech system. I utilize detailed spreadsheets to provide research summaries and the collection of and maintenance of said spreadsheets on a monthly basis. These spreadsheets include data on all surgical cases done in our operating rooms. This can include type of procedure, surgeon, staff, time of case, time in the Recovery rooms, if there were delays, average procedure times, CPT codes, HCPCS codes, Insurance Companies, etc. I maintain and debug numerous software programs and systems throughout the clinical applications units of the hospital; to include: DoseEdge, Meditech, McKesson Boards, MPV, etc. I have developed several perioperative departmental databases to assist them in their many data collection processes and employee data.

As the Administrative Assistant in the Department of Juvenile Services, I was responsible for the maintenance and content of the confidential departmental personnel files (200+) and separate medical files, including securing required documentation. I was the internal HR department for employee processing and paperwork. I was responsible for creating personnel action forms and other personnel transactions. I was certified through the Texas Department of Public Safety to complete all NCIC background checks for all employees and prospective employees. I was responsible for the payroll records and acted as the Department Time Administrator for payroll matters. I was integral to implementing pay for performance and other compensation changes as well as participated in the annual budget process. With my extensive computer experience, I was tasked with developing and maintaining a department Access Database system to automate and streamline the processes by which the recording of student data, billing data and expulsion data for the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program. This program has been viewed and is being used by other agencies throughout the state. I was a member of the department SAP transition team. I assisted in the training and development of the test plan and implementation. I attended meetings and worked out issues we had with the SAP system within our department. I utilized the SAP system to receive, process and record departmental invoices for services and contracts, input requisitions and receivers for goods and services, entered check requests for goods and services, training and employee reimbursements electronically and retained records. I generated orders for office supplies and/or special requested items, received supplies and distributed accordingly. I frequently was called to assist others in the use of the SAP system.I left this job to pursue my passion of healthcare support here at Cook Children's

As the clerical supervisor assigned to the 90 person division, I was responsible for: Division Equipment Inventory, Equipment maintenance, building issues, provided staff support services as requested by department management, troubleshoot user computer hardware problems, troubleshot user computer software problems, coordinated records management activities, and troubleshot any building equipment or actual building maintenance issues. I was the liaison for Facility Communications, Facility Maintenance, Information Systems, and Ergonomic Assessments. I arranged for any additional staffing as needed by the Division. I frequently designed database systems and developed and designed computerized forms for use in various aspects of the Division. I left this job to go back to school full time & then moved to Texas.

I processed invoices, purchase orders, authorizations for expenditures and maintained a database of all invoices paid, purchase order's written and balance left on the purchase order. I maintained the inventory, consisting of processing and writing Material Transfers and maintaining the logs; to track where and when certain items in inventory were located. This was for over 500 natural gas wells throughout Northern California. I processed Continuing Services Agreements, consulting contracts and insurance requirements for over 300 vendors.

As an Air Traffic Controller in the U.S. Air Force, I was responsible for monitoring and supervising the training of twelve other controllers. I re-wrote the entire training package, which streamlined the training program, thus reducing training time. I trained all personnel on the use of a Computer Based Training Program. I was responsible for updating and maintaining the training records for over 50 controllers; I documented on-the-job training and recommended personnel for upgrade. I completed a control tower self-inspection guide, assessing compliance items utilizing eleven separate Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control regulations in preparation for a Quality inspection.
